So HeyTea reopened their Swanston street store offering Buy 1 Get one Free, and then Chatramue (most famous Thai Milk Tea brand) opens their first store in Melbourne (21 March on the same day) also offering Buy 1 get one free.
Both stores are next/close to each other. There's a HUGE crowd and yea I can imagine both queues would be blocking the street. Some waited 5 hours in line, personally I wouldn't do that.
you can buy the Thai milk tea at literally any Asian grocer and make it yourself.
TLDR: Long queues for 2 new store offering Buy 1 get one free milk tea on the same day, some queuing for hours.

Derp.

I just can’t imagine it being that good. Consider it my loss.
I waited an hour for the Thai milk tea today and didn’t rate it that highly but maybe it’s because it’s not really my go to but also maybe I got the wrong thing, apparently they do a durian thing which is good from what I heard from others in the queue
Some people really don’t place any value on their time.
5 wait time for milk tea? Do people not value their time? The drink will be done in about 5-10 minute
This is the craziest retail block in Melbourne, you can count literally 7+ bubble tea stores in one tiny strip
Looks like thirsty work.
There is no beverage in the world I’d wait in that queue for
I reject this
Australian really have their priorities in order don’t they.
Chatramue is massive in Thailand, some shopping centers have two stores for one shopping center. It’s really nice and authentic
So vain. It can’t be that good.
Definitely an Asian thing.
I mean… If that’s what rocks their world… Then go line up for 5 hours. But surely there’s better things to do when you can just go grab it in 10 minutes another day? Ah well. To be a Tok ticker.
And it’s all basically the same, sugar syrup flavoured slop.
If you’ve had one milk tea / boba tea you’ve had them all.
Everything, fuck I hate Melbourne.
Maybe it’s just nostalgia for some foreigners or expats 🤷

What a pointless waste of time.
Insane. Come back after 2 months of operation.
