Entrance fees for some of Georgiaโs most popular national parks and protected areas are going up starting April 1.
These are places that almost always make it into travel itineraries โ and are just as popular among independent travelers.
Alongside the price increase for Georgian citizens, residents, and foreign visitors, the Agency of Protected Areas has also introduced combo tickets.
The idea is to make visits more cost-efficient, encourage exploration of multiple sites, and help spread tourist traffic across different locations.
If you have a Georgian residency card, donโt forget to bring it with you โ it makes a big difference in ticket prices.
Here are some of the updated adult ticket prices:
โข Martvili Canyon: ๐ฌ๐ช 16 GEL (was 12) | ๐ 40 GEL (was 20)
โข Okatse Canyon: ๐ฌ๐ช 16 GEL (was 12) | ๐ 30 GEL (was 20)
โข Prometheus Cave: ๐ฌ๐ช 16 GEL (was 12) | ๐ 40 GEL (was 25)

Curious to hear your thoughts โ do you think these prices are worth it? And if you havenโt visited yet, would you still go?

Martvili still remains my biggest ‘wow is this it’ place after many years of travelling. Would never pay 40 Lari to go in. Many many better places to visit for example nearby Tskaltubo. Prometheus caves just doesn’t appeal either. Many people will pay it though just to tick off the Instagram recommendations so it won’t put most people off. I would be more concerned with what the government does with the money. Many places still have pretty poor facilities, investment and preservation so if it goes towards making this visibly better then fine.
All of the listed locations are overrated and overpriced.
