I’m no geopolitical expert. Can someone explain why this is a good, bad or in-between decision?

This is what happens when you’ve got a PM who’s actually liked by the international community. Impressive work after the scomo years

  3. They import a lot of gas, food and metals from us, so it’s beneficial to them as well.

Australia has raw material so they just need a refinery that will guarantee a % of domestic supply.

  5. Damn. I miss having my dual-fuel LPG Toyota Hiace. Used to not worry about fuel prices

  6. I was about to say I love that they put a circle because they knew people have no idea where singapore is, then i realise the centre of the circle isnt singapore either, just the “S” of the name so the article maker doesnt know where singapore is either

This announcement means jack shit.. We get fuel form Singapore, from businesses..nothing to do with the Singapore Government.. and the crude oil comes from the mid east for them to refine it… the political folks on both sides being Aussie and Singapore have fuck all to do with any of this.. its a media sound bite to make it seem like they are doing somehting…and yes, i am right of centre, although i agree both Dutton and Scomo were raving wankers and worse than useless.

  8. This is good politics. Love to see it.

We have something we are in abundance of and we will leverage that with trading partners we need something from.

It’s refreshing after what seems like a decade of global politicians trying to score points against each other.

  9. Can someone eli5 why this matters at all if the raw crude can’t make it to Singapore’s refineries in the first place?
