SIN to SYD is a lot of tourist and business travel, and people are not going to appreciate being dumped in the western suburbs with no way to get to Sydney city in a meaningful manner.
I could see them maybe opting the SQ211 or SQ241 flights out there when it’s day/evening arrivals and tourists, but I doubt they’ll do their two main A388 routes that form the two major EU connections (SQ221 and SQ231) that are rammed with business travelers.
FWIW I have flown all 4 routes into SYD and if I had to pick the one that went to WSI I wouldn’t want to be on 221 (6am redeye trying to get to the city) or 211 (7pm evening just wanting to get home).
Other questions will be what departures are planned to go back the other way?
Surely they’re going to pick routes services on a mid size wide body because I don’t think they’ll get the numbers to fill an a380.
Who knows, maybe they’ll heavily discount the initial fares and build traffic that way. Or it will bomb and they’ll pull out most of their routes except for the one they can maximize freight on and just keep that one alive.
One things for sure, there are going to be a fair few confused passengers that turn up to SYD only to realise they’re on a flight out of WSI and then scramble to get out there in time. (Same happened with JQ flights coming into AAV for the first year or so)
