Hey guys i am not Norwegian i am Local from Yerevan and in the center we have Nansens statue

  2. Apparently, [there is a museum there as well](https://nansen.mus.am/en/), named after Nansen.

For those who don’t know, Nansen is considered a hero in Armenia because he was one of the few international figures who provided concrete, life-saving aid to survivors of the Armenian Genocide.

  3. ..glad someone appreciates what he stood for. In Norway, we have recently (with the conservatives in a majority, and since then with the support of the labour party in their majority) reinvented “paper-less”, non-persons, refugees and asylum seekers — literally what Nansen’s initiative with the Nansen-passports put an end to.

Only statues we have of him now are in museums, or around universities – where no one is allowed to point out how sincerely hated and lambasted the Nansen-passports would have universally been in Norway today.
