I love using lime bikes. and so does lots of others I've been watching the maps radius expand every few weeks these last couple of months and the last 2 days it's been expanding decently. And right now I've been watching it expand in real time like literally they just added a must park blue zone at cabarita wharf 5 minutes ago. You can't ride to the new areas yet.
These bikes in Sydney are limes 2nd biggest and used service in the world. Now my question is. How far do you think they'll go? My guess is atleast to parramatta. I'd love to Campbelltown but I doubt it. I've added Ario and hellorides map raidus and lime smashes them out of the park. One day I wanna do an end to end ride. Watsons bay to Rhodes, carss park or la perouse. All apparently just under 2 hours flat st8(&

What’s with all the advertising in the app? Can you LuckyPatcher that stuff out or will the app not work if you do it?
It’s really great to see Sydney becoming a cycling city! Ebikes are especially transforming what was an overly hilly landscape to make it much more friendly. This, combined with a really great improvement in cycling infrastructure.
With the fuel prices sky-rocketing I had an actual bicycle traffic jam on my morning commute on Kent St yesterday.
I wish we’d see more encouragement of it from government, it’s really just such a convenient way to get around that reduces road and public transport congestion. I feel like the whole conversation around it is about a handful of kids misusing them rather than the really practical means of getting around that they are.
As a counter point there also needs to be a way for them to not be on obnoxiously placed in the centre of paths, or left in a big ball
Too many streets in Sydney are so small that when these bikes get left there, they heavily restrict people walking
It’s at the point where there’s already too many in places like wynyard, either having racks made to store them, or limits on how many in an area should be entered
can you ride over the green border line?
The state government surcharges on bike share use might curtail that expansion a bit.

Personally unsure how the must park zones would work? Is it just for busy areas and then outside that it’s function how it does now?
I like the bikes because they take me door to door, especially as I work in a random suburb and not the CBD. On a bike it’s 20 mins, PT is 50 with walking included…
If you’re going to ride these often, you should look into buying an ebike. I bought a Cube Reaction Hybrid Pro with a Gen 4 Bosch CX motor for $2800. It’s a hardtail mountain bike, but I upgraded the front shocks, the brakes, and put some street tyres on it. The power to weight ratio is so much better. Mine only weighs 22kg, which is probably 70% lighter than a lime bike. It’s light enough that I can carry it up stairs if I need to. You can ride up extremely steep inclines without even struggling. It’s not like those big fat tire throttle bikes though. You will need to pedal. It just multiplies your power by “400%”.
Bourke St Cycleway this morning was bumper to bumper lime bikes! Welcome to the good life
Up until the blue line where marrickville is – is the part of Sydney where I’d recommend to live for anyone who’s coming from outside the city to live.
Manly soon?
