    This is great news. The problem is that this is a percentage of the total. The total consumption of fossils may have gone up still.

  2. Do you have a graph to show UK energy bills? Because it seems to mirror the solar and wind pretty good.

  3. Would be more informative if it charted nuclear and other renewables.

    Or make it fossil fuels, all renewables, and nuclear.

    And they import fossil fuel more than ever, mostly from the US. Over 80% of their crude oil needs is imported. 50-60% of their natural gas is imported. So what’s the point, other than shooting themselves in the foot?

  5. That’s electricity generation.

    It’s misleading to just say “Power”. Most of the fossil fuels go to transport, industrial use and heat generation. Not taken into account here.

  6. This is electricity, not energy. Fossil energy usage has only fallen slightly the last 25 years.
