This van on my street is always parked like this, they even removed some of the grass on the nature strip to allow them to reverse easily. It's quite disruptive for wheelchairs or mum's with prams to go around as you have to get onto a bit of the nature strip to go past. Is this allowed?

Thanks

  1. It makes it difficult to get past for sure, I would always find that unfortunately the pram would grind along the sides and front of these cars as I was forced to awkwardly get past.

If it’s a one off because of a build I’d let it slide, but if it’s all the time no way

  3. I just saw someone on my street get a ticket for exactly parking like this.

I was working in the garden, saw the council car pull up, inspector gets out, takes a bunch of photos, prints the ticket and buggers off.

No, I would leave them a note before going straight to the council, but you’re within your rights to go to the council and its a several hundred dollar fine on repeat offense.

Snap and solve. It’s a great way to get neighbours you don’t like fined.

Until you need to use a pram (or, I assume, a wheelchair) you don’t truly appreciate how rude and entitled this is.

Snap Send Solve and note the times for them. They can’t fine from a pic but they can come around and ticket them everytime they find them there, they just need to know if out of business hours

  8. When I see a car parked like this I’ve always wanted to dip the soles of a pair of shoes in paint and then make footprints up the side of the vehicle, across the roof or bonnet and down the other side.
I’ve never been brave enough to do it though.

Thinking about it – it might be easier to use a stencil and spray paint.

  9. As a tradie, no you’re not allowed to. Sometimes you have to when unloading tools, because you have a lot, and if it’s me I will move after unloading, and of course move if anyone says anything. If it’s someone parking there daily, no go

    Classic dickhead behaviour.

They can’t fathom that if everybody did this, it would be a shit show – they only care about themselves.

Be careful of getting your ponytail stuck walking under that thing /s

  12. Exactly 💯 as a mother with a pram having to go around a car just because they are too ignorant to park properly really pisses me off!

  13. Get the APP. Snap, Send Solve , goes straight to your local council, every time they park there send another report.

  14. Tradies treat whatever street they’re in like it’s their house. If that means rocking up at 06:45 playing techno in their car until their shift starts, screaming profanities at each other, or parking wherever the hell they feel like it they will. They invented DGAF.

  15. You’re better off not having the chat first, otherwise if he says no and you report him, he’ll know who reported/dobbed him into council.

Yeah, nah. Snap send solve. And please don’t bother speaking to them beforehand; you’ll be sure to find out their true colours.

It’s a footpath, emphasis on foot, so no not legal.

Curious photo doesn’t show it, how much room is in front of truck?
