Hey everyone,

I’m currently in Nice for Erasmus and I’m trying to figure out a way to watch the Monaco GP without spending insane money on tickets.

I know most of the good spots are either paid (grandstands, terraces, etc.) or already well-known, but I found this location on Google Maps and I’m trying to understand if it’s actually viable or not:

    https://maps.app.goo.gl/VuxrHA4wKdMd8mUD8

From what I can tell, it looks close to the harbour section of the track, but I’ve never seen anyone recommend this specific spot in any video or guide.

    So I’m wondering:

    – Is this area blocked off during race weekend?

    – Are there barriers or screens that prevent you from seeing the track?

    – Is the angle just too low to see anything useful?

    – Or is it actually a hidden decent spot that people just don’t talk about?

I’m not expecting a perfect view even just seeing cars for a few seconds would be fine but I’d like to avoid going there and realizing it’s completely useless.

If anyone has experience with this exact area (or similar spots around Port Hercule), I’d really appreciate honest feedback.

Also, if you know any other low-budget or “not completely terrible” viewing spots, feel free to share.

    Thanks!

From what I recall everything is blocked off. The cheapest “seats” (standing room only) was at La Roche. It was 70 EUR at the time.

I promise you everything is blocked. They’ve been running this race for almost 100 years and know where every single spot is. If there’s a free spot, it’s blocked. If they can sell the spot, they sell it. Even during the Histrionic GP where a lot of seats are empty they block off every free spot and have roaming security looking for people trying to get around walls and barriers.
