Does that mean no more travel between Strasbourg and Brussels for the EP?

    Yeah, I thought so.

  2. Politico headline sucks.

The article: *In a letter to national energy ministers, seen by POLITICO, Jørgensen said that national governments should consider “voluntary demand saving measures … with particular attention to the transport sector.”*

*That could mean governments asking citizens to drive or fly less to save fuel for more essential purposes, as is already happening in some Asian countries.*

    *—*

The headline: *Brussels says Europeans should consider traveling less to avoid energy shortages*

  3. Hey, already cried yesterday from the lack of cheap weekend getaway destinations for the next few months 😔

  4. Sir, may you know that we are not poor, only poor countries will have shortages. Thank you for your attention to this matter.

  5. What do you mean less. I am allready just sitting at my home office and going nowhere.

  6. Same leaders private jetting to G7 meetings yeah? Can be done via Zoom too you know …

If only more was invested in green energy instead of fossil fuels! If only this kind of scenario could have been mitigated for!

Finally the fact that I use my horse to get to work is paying off. Now they better start offering paddocks so I can ride to university, and my horse can stay there.
(I do in fact ride the 6km to work, on my steady steed. That isn’t a bike. It’s an actual horse.)

  9. I wonder how many times we can bang our heads on wall saying we should have moved faster off of fossils it’s not like this shit keeps happening again and again and again – and also I want my clean air thank you ffs.

How about they call Trump and demand that he stops this war what is going to cause energy crisis?

  11. So “world leaders” are starting wars, don’t care about ordinary citizens, and now they’re telling people to travel less, while they themselves will surely keep living as they always have. ROTFL.

Europe should get their energy infrastructure up to par with what we use and need, with enough spare to withstand world turbulence

And meanwhile, billionaires using superyachts and using private planes… Fuck them

How about you fucking deal with the issue that’s been caused by politicians acting soft with trump instead of treating him like the bully he is to the point where he feel empowered to caused all this shit.

  15. I’m going to work and back you donkey. Maybe politicians should fly less to save fuel

  16. That’s true. But nobody will do it if their leaders and rich motherfuckers won’t stop too. 🙂

Maybe post Easter. Before that there’s going to be a rush of people seeing family.

This sounds like some stupidity put of Trump’s government. Most of us have problems paying rent, but don’t you worry: I will travel less.
    Stupid uninformed politician.

  19. I have another idea, how about we travel as much as we fucking want and instead don’t vote again for any elected politician incompetent enough to cause said energy shortages?

These fucks need to remember why the guillotine was invented

We need an EU-wide remote work initiative. (and more and better public transit, of course)

Encourage WFH where possible, impose high taxes to tech companies that refuses to do WFH for its employees.

  22. We could i don’t know remove the tax on fuels since the price that we pay for fuel is 60% tax oh and maybe fix the energy market to make sure energy is cheap? Like price fixing?

  23. Give the example by solving your Brussels Strasbourg nonsense travel issues first.

We could go the way of a couple of states in Australia and make public transport free. More efficient to have 80 people on a double decker or a few hundred on a train than the equivalent n ICE cars, or using loads of KW’s in electric for EV’s.

Just make it free for a couple of weeks or maybe a month and see how it goes.

  25. PositiveScarcity8909 on

Travel to actual first world countries to completely avoid energy shortages.

Until they apply this sort of mentality to more mandatory working from home to avoid pointless commutes, “Brussels” can kiss my white ass.

  27. SkillInfinite1605 on

Thanks retard! But while I can do that cause I can work remotely, not everyone has that luxury!

  28. Have billionaires been taxed (income AND existing assets) enough to make them stop using private jets and yachts?

    No?

Then I shall continue to travel as much as I want, dear politicians. Because I don’t see why it’s always us, never them who are supposed to make sacrifices.
