In a just world, this is the sort of thing that would get Penny mordant barred from the Conservative cabinet, there’s no way, she didn’t know what the process was especially for suicides

Sounds about right.
The U.K. government’s policies towards the sick and disabled, for the last 25 years. Motivated almost entirely by the nexus of political calculus and budgetary priorities.
Well, I expect this is the next major scandalous injustice for which the British state will face a major reckoning.
I only hope it is sooner rather than later. For the millions of sick and disabled people who have suffered far too long under consecutive governments.
