You know my love of the convergence of IT technologies. USB-C, a fortunately omnipresent standard and respected by all manufacturers. The protocols standards able to communicate with each other. Simpler and more compact hybrid computers. But we can always go further. And in 2026, it may be a question of survival.

With the general rise in hardware prices, a paradigm shift is necessary to guarantee access to computing for as many people as possible. And this new paradigm involves compromises on two peripherals: the keyboard and the screen.

Indeed, who needs a 49 ultrawide screen?" when a screen of 10" can do the trick, as long as we use the method of JMMPP ? Why settle for a keyboard with mechanical switches when you can replace it with the superior technology of capacitive touchscreen? And why, finally, buy several different (and expensive) peripherals when you can replace them with a single device?

For even greater simplicity, this guide replaces the monitors guide and the mechanical keyboards guide. This guide is not a guide to cycling. Thank you for your understanding.

Size, resolution, definition…

It’s a little late to be picky about these criteria. No kidding, have you seen the price of RAM? Anyway I know you never read this section. Just remember that there are keys, at least 80, and pixels, at least… a million ! Do you know how much a million Larmina makes? And what’s more, they are in color.

Buying guide

  • BQAA Ficihp K1 – PLN 1,384 – The entry-level option for the less fortunate. At this price you will have to make compromises (again?), but you have the essentials: 98 keys, a 12.6 IPS screen" and a USB-C connection. The screen is not adjustable but the aluminum chassis ensures good robustness to the whole.

  • Kwumsy K3 – PLN 1,117 – Despite a clumsy name to say the least, this keyboard screen has everything to please: multi-touch, 82 keys, and an adjustable IPS panel of 13". Yes, you heard right, 13 inches. If you need more, you’re not in the right place.

  • Tetra – PLN 744 – Fans of ergonomic keyboards will not be forgotten with this split-keyboard with chicklet keys, perfect for protecting you from MSDs. The adjustable screen of 8" will allow you tactile control worthy of the touchbar of a Macbook, and the two parts of the keyboard can even be detached thanks to a system of magnets. Magic!

  • DS Pixel – PLN 2,275review – The screen above the keyboard is good, but isn’t it even better UNDER the keyboard? The DS Pixel offers you to… break… the monotony… of keyboards? With this sleek system, you save even more space, and can switch between transparent physical keys and the capacitive screen. Gamers will not be left out thanks to a polling rate of 8 kHz, and frequent travelers will appreciate its 20,000 mAh battery.

Go further

Even by reducing the screen and keyboard to a single device, there remains a critical problem: the space taken up on the desk. You then have several solutions:

  • Replace the keyboard with voice recognition software. I hope you are patient and living alone.

  • Replace your entire computer, keyboard, screen and mouse with a tablet, as shown in this provocative claimbut maybe you still have enough self-esteem to avoid going that far.
