There's just this random specific *one* parking spot on a street for 1P, while there's heaps of spots available elsewhere while not being near any major centres. Could it be because of an angry homeowner?

  1. Pole offset to kerb is uneven.

Might be something the homeowner put in himself as a DIY project.

  2. First thing I’d be asking is, is it a home? My spidey senses are telling me this might be something a bit more than that. If it is a home, does it have more than one function?

A considerably newer wall immediately in front of what looks like a far older retaining wall, for example? That seems to indicate something more at play here. e.g. it could be a disability service provider, aged care, place of worship, healthcare provider, etc?

There are a lot of places which just blend in with the scenery but still provide important community services. You can probably look up why this was implemented in your local council’s traffic committee minutes.

    Where exactly is this?

  3. Hmm well the lot next to it has a weird reverse subdivision with a really long driveway circa 2013, so maybe they got fed up with that neighbour parking in front of their house? Otherwise i dont see any utilities or anything that need access.

also kinda weird that the streetview car only ever goes there during council cleanup

an answer to a similar question, was that it was not permissible to put disabled parking spot there, because of the layout ,the slopes, the length, etc but if they put out a regular time limit sign up , it imposes that on ordinary vehicles but the disabled sticker vehicle can park there indefinitely.
