    Spain, France, Switzerland, Italy and now Austria are refusing US to overfly their countries. It’s a blockade of a huge part of the northern access to the Mediterranean

    Does the blocked access affect the US and Israel militarily in any significant way?

    It is rather standard practice for Austria. Only things we allow through are units for UN or CFSP approved missions of the EU (iE military material for Ukraine). If its standard peace time flyovers it tends not to be a problem if they are registered. But Austria has made a point during the Iraq war and even sent interceptors to remind the US.
