Japan will provide Australia with a normal level of fuel supply as the Strait of Hormuz remains blocked.

The Australian government is continuing to meet with fuel exporters in the region to shore up ongoing supply.

Japan's Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi is planning a visit to Australia, Japanese media is reporting.

  1. Australia only gets about 5% of our refined fuel requirements from Japan. So “normal” doesn’t really help us much unfortunately.

  2. While the rest of us piss and moan and demand whatever the flavour of the month knee jerk policy is, Labor is quietly getting on with the job

Imagine if Dutton was leading the country. He’d be busy committing young Australians to risk their lives for Trump and Netanyahu’s War, while ~~bribing~~ paying Trump to maybe send us a few gallons of fuel across the Pacific Ocean to go directly to Gina Rinehart and other miners.

Albanese’s leadership may be boring atm, but it is effective, sensible and responsible.

Now imagine if either Abbott or multi-ministries Morrison were PM at this time…

One nation supporters in tatters. Would rather see our nation fail than Albo succeed

Looks like countries that secure Hormuz toll deals are gonna make a killing being middle men

  6. As others have mentioned we only get about 4% to 5% from Japan so whilst good that we wont lose that it doesnt really move the needle.

  7. This is plain stupid. Australia should be energy self sufficient and no need their ‘help’.

Labor master class. Good job Mr Albanese. Cutting excise by half and then some has reduced the burden on everyone.

All the doomsdayers say conserve fuel or we’ll be rationing, the government has said more fuel is coming.

For those who can afford it even people attending eastern creek wouldn’t even bat an eyelid.

Gotta love Japan – it’s the Japan Australia 30th anniversary of the pact of friendship this year, conversely
