  1. I left when they wanted $60/month just for a basic plan.
Aldi had (basically the equivalent) for 1/4 the price on prepaid, even though it’s still Telstra’s network.

Yep, time to jump ship and go to a reseller. Maybe that’s what they want so they don’t have to deal with any pesky retail customers any longer

Just went prepaid over the weekend …

Cant believe i wastes so much money by not acting sooner

Was paying 70 a month with an increment going to 74 or 75 in a few weeks ?

I cancelled 2 months ago and they charged me 3 weeks later. Called back and they said they’d received the request to cancel but hadn’t actioned it yet. Okay…

  5. Soul-less dogs like the rest of these companies who have a stranglehold on every aspect of our lives and still aren’t happy.

This shit needs to change or we’re all doomed to a death by a thousand cuts if they haven’t got us already

I have shitty reception but am over their price rises for a basic plan.

The Aldi and boost don’t use all the Telstra networks from what I understand.

I left when they wanted almost $70/month and went to boost – paid $250 for a year from memory and coverage has been great (outer Melbourne).

For anyone wondering the only provider that has full access to the Telstra network is Boost.

Been prepaid with Aldi now for years – best decision ever

  9. But privatising government services makes them more efficient /s

If only it was still Australia Telecom.

  10. Its worth trying other networks every so often on prepaid. I’ve found Optus and Vodafone wholesale network to be usable in places where even 5 years ago were “only Telstra”.

  11. I wonder why telstra took so long to increase the price of Telstra One Number compared other services price increases? It hasn’t increased since its 2017 introduction. Would be interesting to see the data of uptick of Wearable cellular devices has increased a lot or not since 2017.

Unfortunately its the only network that is available in my town, and the even more rural areas I work only telstra works on the private towers (not resellers).

I was with Telstra based on sweetheart in hifi deal that saw me around $600 over two years. I thought I would look at going back but each plan was at least $15-$20 more expensive than the competitors.
I also wasn’t overly impressed with the coverage with several times my partner having more bars on another network in areas.

  14. Telstra use to say the price was to have on shore customer service… but if you’re shipping that to India then why the premium?

  15. DifferenceMediocre77 on

Everyone I know who was with Telstra left. We also dumped them for both mobiles and home internet. Like the prices had become so high that they weren’t remotely competitive anymore. Those dreaded price increase emails were coming with diabolical regularity. Fkn horrible ass company.

Haha, I pay $25 month on amaysim have done for years and never run out of data or phone calls even get international, yeah now owned by optus but I’m winning

just once I would like to feel like a VALUED customer… unfortunately I’m Australian

Service and coverage is terrible where I live and work, regardless of what coverage maps state. Really no other options but to have as well as landline for emergencies.

  19. Captain-Crowbar on

They have ALWAYS been more expensive for no discernible reason. I don’t understand how they still have any customers that live in metro/suburbs.

  20. Savings_Dot_8387 on

I really hope so. People need to stop just eating these random price rises from companies like Telstra and all the streaming services.

I was on a $49 phone plan two years ago, just checked my bill and it’s almost double that now

  22. It costs me $42 or something at Optus. The same plan Telstra were trying to charge me for was $78. Get fucked.

Not surprised they gotta maximize profits and keep shareholders elated…
