  1. Whenever I hear or read the word ‘girt’, I have an almost Pavlovian response with “wtf is girt”, an old Billy Connolly joke.

And for the Kiwi bros, New Zealand is in this picture too*

    ~~*not girt by sea~~

e: Sorry guys, totally love your take on girtness 🙂

We all would have MOONED 🌚em if we knew!

I remember people would light massive bon fires for them to see!

  4. I know the cyclone has passed, but that circle of clouds just off Cape York looks ominous. The silhouette of the commander against the globe gives real 2001 Space Baby vibes too.

Also love that this was taken on an iPhone (or any phone for that matter) – goes to show how much technology has progressed since these photos were first taken during the 60s moon missions. The device the shot was taken on is hundreds of thousands of times more powerful than the computer running the ship that took the same voyage 50+ years ago.

[EDIT] Damn, another cyclone. Thanks for the updates. Hope everyone up there gets through this one okay.

What an incredible rare capture. The top end into the red centre is so remarkably green since the cyclones! Doubly historic.

Not really down under. Who would have thought Brisbane is the top of Australia?
    Apart from everyone in Brisbane…

  7. Looking a bit greener than usual, but I guess the cyclone dumped a few hundred billions of liters of rain on it.

Kinda amazing that the Flat Earthers think it’s easy to fake videos in orbit around the planet, showing exact sun and cloud conditions at every point in real time.
