As the title suggests, I'll be leaving the country from June to July. I have a virgin adult female Hierodula majuscula, (3 months old currently since her final molt) and a small colony of Nauphoeta roaches that I wanted to give to my friend to care for, but turns out, they could not care for them during that period. I also wanted to give them to the melbourne museum, but they didn't respond either. Is there anyone based in Melbourne, preferably with reliable experience keeping mantises and other inverts, that would be willing to take her in? Please dm me asap.

Could the shop you got her from help?
Does it come with the hat?
what a beautiful colour she is
will she stay that yellowish greenish colour? or will she turn dark green?
sorry i can’t help, my cats would hurt her 🙁
I’m curious, what does her virginity have to do with anything?
She’s gorgeous
Omg!!!
Im afraid I cannot assist but I am obsessed with her hat
According to the last mantis I met the hat suggests intelligence. He wanted my help to woo a lady mantis but I haven’t completed that quest yet.
Is virgin relevant here?
How long do they live
What does care involve?
Does she come with an appropriate terrarium? Does it need power? I’m fascinated by her. I’ve got a beardie so handling roaches doesn’t bother me. But I also have other critters – is her terrarium strong?
Perhaps try asking the person you got her from to look after her for the time that you are away and offer to pay them.
Or perhaps find another breeder.
You want to be careful who you leave her with because finding somebody who has the knowledge and experience and is trustworthy could prove difficult.
She’s gorgeous by the way.
Shes so photogenic omg
I have spiny leaf stick insects, I love praying mantises, and would be very interested. I’m in the south east suburbs.
Wonder if Melbourne Museum would take her?
I may be keen, can you me dm me details and rough location?
How long do they live?
This is gonna be an odd suggestion, but reach out to local daycares if no one can, especially for profit ones. They would probably love to have a display like that for the kids. My daycare has these red mantis leaf bug things in the reception area constantly, and had bunnies and fish over the last year too.
She’s stunning! I hope you find a good person to care for her
If you can DM me care details I would love to! I’m a streamer, so I can even give her a designated camera for you to say hi to her when I’m live 😂
Nuh, my cat will eat her.
Fantastic with a little parmi cheese and peanut oil
I can’t help I’m in Brissie but omg she is adorable. I love mantis’s.
I need to be deinfluenced now, cause I want one!
I’ll DM you 😃
I have no experience but id totally do it
my friend runs a praying mantis fight club, he would be interested
I have friends in Sunbury that breed leaf insects.
Perhaps worth reaching out to universities? Some of them have insect labs
I’m near Canberra so I can’t help but I LOVE HER
Maybe reach out to someone like The Lizard Wizard? They have a variety of insects themselves and might be able to help, or at least point you to someone trustworthy who can
