I got this one prickly pear in my backyard in Carina. It's about 2 meters tall. Does anyone know where I can get a quote to get it removed completely (dig out the roots, dispose the whole thing as no green bin available, etc)? Can't/don't want to do it myself.

Thanks.

  1. Just get one of those Garden Maintenance people. But really? This is NOT a difficult thing to do yourself.

  2. Get a green bin, you are already paying for all the wealthy people in detached houses to get one for free, you can get one too but you have to ask council instead

River City Trees are the best in my experience but I’d keep it and eat the paddles and fruits myself. Free tucker in these trying times.

Cactoblastis. Prickly Pear almost destroyed agricultural production in Qld in the 1920s until the introduction of this moth in 1925. No one should be planting this pest.

Is it the fruiting variety? If so I think I have a family member who would come dig it out for you.
