I think that what Ivaylo did was one of the most impressive feats. However, i really doubt he was just a nobody-farmer. A nobody cannot raise an army and conquer a country, he’s probably remembered as such because of all the false rumours his enemies spread about him. He was probably a trained warrior or scholar who was famous around the parts where he lived and his family owning a farm. I could be wrong, it won’t be the first or last time.
