The outlandish lies are the whole point. They are literally just internet trolls elected to destroy and isolate America from the inside by rage baiting its allies.
You can test this theory in few months, where European leaders should go to the US to campaign hard against Republicans in midterms and see the reaction… I’m sure they’ll be very reasonable about that. It would be completely inappropriate, just like what Vance and Trump are doing in Hungary and tried in other countries as well.
