Great, lets keep more of these coming, we are growing at a crazy pace and need more places for people. Vertical works because that way we can keep parks and green spaces.

Let’s hope they put in a police station near that Bunnings site being up the road from Heidelberg West and presumably this will be more public housing.

10% affordable isn’t enough,
Just putting money in pockets of developers

We need more accomodation but ffs can the apartments be well designed instead of the shit they usually produce. Concrete between apartments, thick front doors, actual liveable spaces with actual storage that isn’t just a BIR and usable balconies.
AND cheaper public transport – they build and build but don’t put on more carriages and they are not more frequent. Plus the trend this summer of not turning on the AC needs to stop…

I’m all for rezoning, but as someone who used to live around Northland, it needs serious work on the transport side to handle this well. A tram extension would do well here, off the 86 maybe the 11 to connect to trains.
Also it is a rezoning, Panda Mart just moved in so nothing will happen until the lease is up even if sold to a developer.

No more Panda Mart

There’s plenty of open land further out…
Feel like free housing should be in those areas.
They should sell off the prahran, Hampton etc sites and they’d 10x the people if they were further out.

I think the SRL and inner suburb location are ideal for this. Brings less headaches for access to transport, healthcare and employment.
