Isn’t this what cycling is all about? The heroism, the suffering (sometimes silent) and in the end a glorious victory. Paris-Roubaix is the most flamish race out there.
Also: In times where 2 riders dominate almost every important spring classic, Wout’s victory is a shimmer of light and hope for all Belgian cycling fans: yes they can be beaten.

I’m a hater. Downvote all you want

Its like… good job, you worked hard and now you got more money than other people would ever see in their life.

Why should I be happy? I don’t know you. Should you be a rolemodel to me of some sorts. You just ride your bike really well.

      Go sports!

      Edit: GOOO SPOOORTS!
PUSH LEGS. SPIN WEELS. BIKE GO FAST.
      GET MONEY. PLEBS CRY.

Seriously though, I wish our society was more oriented towards idolising actual people who make achievements for the benefit of our welfare and development. But alas, bread and games…

Was at a wine tasting event in Antwerp – they put the race on the big screen and the last lap on the velodrome was just insane, everyone went from ‘nice fruity nose on this rioja’ to screaming their heads off for Wout.

Legendary victory, so happy for him.

Within 10 years people wil be asking if you still remember where you were when Wout won Roubaix.

    5. 50km kapot gaan van de stress, wat een ontlading… moet geleden zijn van België – Japan.

What an interview just after the race (the one in English for all the broadcasters).

    7. I don’t care about cycling much but we saw the last 50k at work and it was awesome.

    8. Kans van zijn leven gegrepen … Roubaix blijft het speelterrein van de Belgen 🙂

I’m one of those rare Van der Poel fans in Belgium. Damn shame how much bad luck he had today. But I’m still really happy it went to Wout in the end. He deserves to be on the Paris-Roubaix list of honor.

I had tears in my eyes both during the sprint and his interview afterwards. What a beautiful moment, nobody deserved to win this race more than he did.
