This is so relatable 😭😭 I felt like I was nonstop crying from the moment I found out I needed a root canal until like a week after the temp crown went in. Hope you’re doing ok

  3. “Death?”….”hockey?”…. Are you crying, but don’t quite know why you are crying?

  4. Shit I haven’t cried that many times in the last 2 decades.

Except when I watch movies, that is. Fuckin’ movies…

  5. I wish I could cry more often. It always feels cathartic after. I think I’ve cried 3 or 4 times in the past 20 years

Damn. That’s a lot of crying. What kind of sad cry are you doing?

I am a 36 year old male, dad of 2 of married 13 years and I “cry” maybe once a week. I get watery eyes and COULD cry if I really wanted to.

Mine are emotional but not sad. Things that remind me of my boys, my wife, the future or a special emotionally deep moment (guess is happy to an extent depending on the moment)

  7. You don’t need to answer an internet stranger about this but are you talking to a professional about this? It just seems like a lot of crying. If things are overwhelming please at least speak with your family doctor.

  8. The way it was cropped on my phone, I couldn’t see the numbers, but to make the graph work, it looked like roughly 2 in Jan, 2 in Feb, and 6 in March. Less wouldn’t make those ratios.

I was wondering what could have gone wrong to cry 10 times in 3 months. Hoping you were OK. Then I saw the next graph wasnt 90% and 10%, and I clicked full screen.

    Now im really worried.

  9. “Life is short

    And pleasures few

    And holed the ship

    And drowned the crew

    But o! But o!

    How very blue

    the sea is.”

Do you by chance live in south Texas? Roaches down there are a normal occurrence. And as I learned those big fuckers can fly.

Ngl these are all valid reasons. A roach would have me crying too. And the dentist cancelling your appt is awful! A car crash!?? Hope you’re ok and April is looking better for you!

I wish I could cry more than like, twice a year, I feel like it would better for my mental health

I’ve been tracking my cries for the past couple of years and there was one year I cried a lot and a not insignificant amount of those cries were due to apartment problems including roaches, so this is actually so relatable lol

People are making fun of you but crying is actually good for you to a certain extent and being proud of never crying is not it.

While it’s good to make sure everything’s okay with a medical professional, especially regarding your fears of the dentist, the amount of crying you’re doing can be a reflection of how your life is going and how you are processing it more than anything specific to you.

  14. The reasons for crying make me think “really young”, but the quality of the data makes me think “full grown adult”

Underlying mental health issues? (Legit question, not being a dick)

Thats insane. I’ve cried once a year on my mothers death date since 2023. I’m not a monster, i have plenty of empathy but i just can’t cry over things that aren’t life ending or threatening.

Here I am crying once a year at most. 😮 Maybe we can learn from each other:P

This is like looking at a summary of my own college years hahaha. Glad to see you said you were looking into anxiety meds because that would have helped me a lot ten years ago.
If it’s any comfort, from someone much older than you, once your brain finishes developing, everything stops feeling like the end of the world and things like dental emergencies and pests in the house start to be a lot more manageable.

I too cry at the eye doctor 🙁

They always say something along the lines of, “Huh, not a lot of people have this problem. It’s usually a dentist thing.”

  19. I wonder how much your tracking data about crying – and crying that often and systematically, conditions you to cry in situations where a normal reaction wouldn’t end that way.
