  1. Doubtful unless he is juiced, if you look at all the competitors around the time Usain Bolt was running, they have all been popped for PED use except for Usain, so he was probably on it and just hid it better than the rest.

    Athletics is full of cheats.

Let’s be real, he’d have to hop on the sauce. The only athletes who have gotten close to Bolt’s Olympic records were juicers. And Bolt was never caught juicing because he lived on a tiny island with a tiny international airport where his network knew the second a bunch of WADA reps showed up with their surprise piss cup. And he would’ve been managed and monitored daily by doping experts to ensure he could pass tests at short notice.

“I have never had a single positive doping test. I’m not that clever to avoid detection for 10 years”.

    He’s only young.

He needs to focus on his development over anything else at the moment.

He’s got the talent, clearly, but he needs to hone his discipline to ensure he’s making the most of his talent.

I can’t predict the future, anyone that tells you they can is a scammer. Or The Simpsons

Yesterday was wind legal however it was super windy in sydney. The airport was suffering wind delays and only one runway in operation. So many PB’s including a rando running a 19.88. I have a inkling they caught a gust in that race that didnt register on the wind meter. The result was abnormal. Not saying G isnt that good. Hes amazing. However its a weird result. It stands as a record yet for me there will be a little asterix against it. lets see him do it again. Same w mr 19.88 as that was exceptional.

  6. Credit where credit is due. The fellow is a great athlete no matter what the future holds. He cops a bit but pushes through it with good maturity. Well done him 👍🏻😊

I think he may. I’d be really happy for him if he does. Apparently he’s running faster now than Usain Bolt was at his age

It’s possible but he is still extremely young and wouldn’t be the first incredibly promising talent to never fulfil his potential. He’s already running pretty fantastic times but some athletes have peaked as juniors and never gone on to any level of success. Best to be hopeful and supportive but not heap pressure on at this stage.

In international terms, he reached the 200 metres semi finals at last year’s World Championships, but needs to reach a major final (at the next World Championships in 2027 maybe?) before expectations are raised further.

  9. Who knows…. What seems suspect right now is that I think it was 6 athletes in that final set PB’s by a good margin. Some say it’s the recently resurfaced track. Some say it strong wind around the bend (wind isn’t measured until the end 100). However, his numbers were crazy good. Estimated fastest 100-150m segment of any 200m runner ever. His last 100m was faster than Bolts fastest ever last 100m and not far off the all time best.

Such is the nature of world records though – freak occurences in conditions and athletes.

I think reality is somewhere slower than his 19.67. Below 20.0 though. We’ll find out in August. Until then I wish him all the best health for optimum training, and Lets Go!
