  1. I’m ready for some excuses other than the governments planning and funding.
Some good smear campaigns being run trying to shift blame.
Just remember you voted this problem in last election, you’re living with the consequences of your actions right now.

They invite everyone into the state but never spend any money to keep the infrastructure up to date and other states are glad to get rid of them because they’re already overloaded.

“The Brisbane transit system isn’t up to scratch but don’t you dare inconvenience me by doing upgrades or maintenance “ – Brisbane reddit, probably.

  4. Sure shows the importance of the workers doing the industrial action.. Might be worth paying them a livable wage, right? 9

As someone who has lived in similar sized cities with trains and metros that didn’t just shut down for weeks, I’ve always been perplexed by how this is seen as acceptable in Brisbane.

I think there is still this feeling that Brisbane is a small country town so it’s ok. Hopefully the powers that be are finally waking up that it’s not actually ok, other cities of similar sizes are able to do the same work without shutting down services for weeks.

It’s really just an absolute joke, but this has been going on for years. Glad people have had enough finally.

Was an absolute mess at Bowen Hills this afternoon. Definitely more people in the city this week than last. I was so close to just giving up and walking to Eagle Junction.

It became worse with a car hitting a rail bus at the Montpelier Rd lights and it took 20 minutes for my bus to loop around to the tunnel. I get wanting to keep buses off Sandgate Rd but that way would have been 15 minutes instead of over 30 in the tunnel.

Ugh, I’m glad everyone is posting these warnings. I wfh’d off last week but I have an appointment tomorrow. Guess I better leave an hour early and prepare for a lot of walking.

  8. No R603 buses for 30min, no one in charge and so many ‘staff’ just standing around with no answers

Meanwhile Sydney Metro is announcing tons of extra services and this is what we get here in Brissie.

  10. I refuse to come into the office again this week after the shit show today, what an absolute shit show!

Been at Roma Street waiting for a rail bus to Geebung for over half an hour now. One singular bus has come through in that time to pick up a handful of the hundred-odd people waiting. An exercise in patience/not losing your shit at the staff who haven’t got any more information than you do.

  12. The railbus station on Bowen Hills generate massive traffic on Abbotsford Rd and Montpelier Rd, coz they shut two of three lanes on a main road for the busses from both directions.
I’ve wondered for a long time if they could make it work for railbusses on Hudd St instead, but in general the road infrastructure around Bowen Hills station is all around terrible for replacement bus services.

What has the TransLink CEO or the Transport Minister had to say?

Oh wait, Mickelturd is busy declaring war on e-bike commuters instead of GeTtInG oN wItH tHe JoB of, you know, his job.

why doesnt everyone just drive and use a lot of unnecessary fuel?

like the only way people pay attention is if this actually hits them where it hurts.

  15. With this post and the Geebung post, I don’t understand why more people don’t try to take the normal buses

  16. Feeling the value of 35%+ Tax of your avg wage?
Satisfied with the 1,000,000,000’s we spend on trains?

So glad our leaders are ready to speak on Trump/Iran/Israel but haven’t mentioned the housing crisis or anything actually effecting the avg punter.

It’s a typical government fuck up.
    Like the vaccine rollout.
Imagine if the government ran Brothels no one would get a leg over

Considering the person at the back of the train who’s entire job is to check nobody’s head is sticking out a door and blow a whistle is on ~$100k, and drivers are on nearly double that…. not sure why there is industrial action…..

This probably explains why I saw a shirtless dude in RMs and chinos running home on my drive home from work today

They really should let people (who can) work from home. Even doing that I think there would still be a lot of extra people. I can only imagine how exhausting that would be dealing with before and after work.

If this was here in Melbourne, i would assume people were lining up for a new-gotta have it-trendy donut.

It’s just another argument for decentralization of and dispersing businesses to secondary CBD’s near the ends of the train lines at places like Ipswich, Redcliffe, Sandgate, Springfield, Caboolture & Cleveland and switching the way the traffic flows.

Why aren’t these punters riding e-bikes home instead as a backup option?  Oh wait, LNP just made those illegal.

Praying for another Campbell Newman 1 term disaster.
