Omg I work in Fairfield and was wondering why that area was gated off. Used to go there for my smoke breaks ðŸ˜

Is Fairfield that bad?
Pardon my ignorance. Only visited it like 1 time.

More policing should do the trick.
You know what they say: treatment is better than a cure. I’m sure if we come down harder on these kids they’ll come good, and all of the environmental pressures surrounding them will simply dissolve.

Can a Fairfielder explain what antisocial behaviour was actually happening?

Has the Fairfield mayor considered putting anti-Israel protestors in the plaza? He’ll see a much higher police presence there after that.

The design of the plaza (speaking as an urban designer) is not great! I understand Council had limits with what they were working with, but it’s very flawed.
It basically only has one positive interface, with The Crescent. Otherwise, it’s just blank walls and a dingy laneway.
A plaza like this could only succeed if it has activation from more than one side (and it barely does on The Crescent), otherwise it becomes more like a dark alley with no passive surveillance, than a public park.

Is anyone actually surprised?
As a Farfielder this needed to happen
This is why we can’t have nice things.
