Hi everyone!

I am from Poland and I am currently looking for job opportunities in Norway. I speak English fluently, and while I have some experience in painting, I am highly motivated to pivot away from the construction industry. I’m looking for roles in logistics, warehouses, hospitality, or customer service—essentially anywhere where English is the primary language of communication.

I’m already familiar with FINN.no and NAV (Arbeidsplassen), and I’ve seen many offers there. However, I’ve noticed that a lot of them seem to target very specific, high-level specialists or seasoned tradesmen (carpenters, industrial painters, etc.).

My question is: is it actually worth applying through these big portals if you don’t speak Norwegian yet? Sometimes it feels like those CVs just disappear into a black hole.

I would love to hear from the locals or those who have successfully made the move: "If you were a foreigner with only English skills, where exactly would you look for work in Norway today?"

Are there specific agencies (bemanningsbyrå), niche websites (like The Hub), or perhaps certain industries that are more "English-friendly" than others?

I would truly appreciate any links, names of reliable recruitment firms, or even just some "insider" advice on how to land a job outside of the building site.

Thanks a lot!

Alot of trades require a certificate called fagbrev.

Where are you from is a better question. If you’re not European you cannot take those level of jobs without a certificate regardless.

It’s very tough, I’ve applied to hundreds and either no response or rejections so far. Good luck to you!

There is regularly articles in the newpapers about how a job opening at <insert name of grocery chain or restaurant chain or warehouse> that has received 300 applications for ONE position. It’s a really tough market.
