  1. Its equal parts disturbing and sad that a 13 year old girl has such a lack of feeling towards other members of the human race.

Personality disorder, a history of extreme abuse and institutionalisation is my only guess.

  2. She was already on bail when she did this recent batch of crimes, so it’s completely reasonable for her to be denied bail again. She was also missing from her residential care home.

  3. “Expressed a desire to go back to school” means go back to school to cash in her new found status, reap the benefits, terrorize her teachers, then leave again to go commit more crime

A willingness to return to school?

I could imagine this is only in a specialist environment far, far away from a standard high school.

This is the symptom not the disease

EDIT: And I say this as someone whose mother was done for car theft at 14, had me at 16 and died in pain at 52.

  6. I understand that this is a very serious topic, but I couldn’t help but laugh at these sentences being back to back in the article:

*”Shortly after that incident — within three minutes — she googled how long the sentence is for running someone over,” Detective Senior Constable Jarryd Grey told the court on Monday.*

*”It’s quite troubling … we realised it’s premeditated.”*

I understand the second sentence is actually referring to what they were talking about right before the first sentence, which was the other content found on her phone, but googling the punishment for something AFTER you do it is actually the exact opposite of premeditated.

  7. Someone like this, who clearly demonstrates a risk of seriously injuring a member of the public, if not killing them, should be detained for a lengthy period and required to engage with rehabilitation and social reintegration programmes. This girl is vying for attention through acts of violence, it will only get worse unless she receives a lot of therapy and is kept away from bad influences.

  8. Already a piece of shit at 13. Assuming she lives up to 80, she’ll be a financial and safety burden to all of us for another 67 years. Her parents should be jailed for doing such a shit job. Orphans turned out better.

What’s the saying? A child not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth? Something like that.

  10. I would not at any point be surprised if she was diagnosed with anti personality disorder.

She probably won’t see any real repercussions outside of being held until a trial.

  11. “She has expressed that nothing will stop her offending.”

Challenge accepted. Time to start throwing serious charges at her then like some kind of conspiracy to commit a hate crime or domestic terrorism.

One more year Veruca Salt, and then hopefully it’s “Adult Time for Violent Crime”, or the Thomas Embling Hospital. How much has she cost the system and innocent people so far? How much are victims of her crimes being compensated for?

  13. > There was a web search on ‘where do Jews live’,” Grey told the court.

    > “It shows us it is targeted. She is going out of her way to target a certain community.”

    That is terrifying

So there was one time when I was walking to my car in Norfland, a probs 13-year old looking girl with tattoos and nose rings was walking in the other direction and flung whatever skewer she just finished into me.

I was… flabbergasted. I probs weigh 2 times more than she does. Half of me was livid and half of me was amused. She’s definitely missing something in her life: discipline? Education? Care? Love? Punishment?

    Ugh, this fucking headline!

“She thinks it gives her status …”

Well, she’s right. Whether you want to argue it’s good status or bad status is besides the point. You could replace “status” with “reputation” and it’s equally dumb. She did it, we’re talking about it, people either hate or respect her for it. It’s “status” either way.

I don’t care if it’s a direct quote from police, that just makes it worse. I’ll still be asking how can you write an article for a major paper and come off as dumber than a 13-year old?

Anyway, in other news: “Lex Luther thinks he’s smart”.

Well I’m going to get less cranky with my 14 year old when she refuses to clean her room. At least she’s not out there running people over

“In one incident on March 30, the girl was allegedly behind the wheel of a stolen car in Brighton in Melbourne’s south-east and attempted to hit a cyclist with the passenger door of the car.”

Wait… what? How do you do that? I mean *physically* how? She’s driving the car and at the same time swinging the passenger door?? I’m 6″ tall and I doubt I could even do that. How do you just write something like that with zero follow-up?

“ allegedly offending an average of 1.45 times a day in 74 days” yet they waited until she committed 109 to make an arrest…

  19. IndependentNo7265 on

Fool me 109 times, shame on you. Fool me 110 times, uh, I forget how the rest of that one goes. Something dip-shitty and condescending like “locking them up doesn’t do any good”…
