    The post is serious but also facetious.

    It all comes from the fact that I have been using Twitter for a long time and I have created a small national and international schedule from which to accurately inform myself about national and international events.

    In fact, traditional media are often less accurate and in-depth than online users or analysts. I speak both about Osint and about economic and cultural issues.

    Well today I open it and the list of what’s trending in Italy is the following shit that I don’t give a shit about.

    But above all they seem like the things that old people write on Facebook: those things like “good morning” or “coffee”?

    At which a question arises spontaneously.

    I understand engagement – the battle for our attention and our time waged by social media – but for me, what engages me is in-depth, quality content and on Twitter/X I found it and it was offered to me.

    Now, as you can see from the screenshot it suggests this stuff to me.

    But why? But who the fuck cares and who cares?

    Why do they want to make me stupid?

    Who might be interested in and why do users respond to these things?

    Is the Twitter user base really becoming the Facebook user base?

    Mah.

      Oddio non è proprio recentissima come cosa, onestamente io smisi di usare Twitter più di dieci anni fa proprio per gli hashtag di merda che mi toccavano il nervoso, penso fosse proprio il periodo in cui le onedirectoners intasavano i TT ogni giorno. A parte questo come ogni altro social è sempre stato stracolmo di dementi che cercano di gonfiarsi l’ego, cambia solo la modalità

      Non ho ben capito cosa sto guardando ma usa gli RSS per seguire feed di notizie! Se non devi litigare nei commenti su X a che ti serve? 🙂 (almeno credo si litighi ancora da quel che sento)

      E per i siti che non hanno feed RSS te li costruisci che esistono diversi strumenti!

      Ma lol é sempre stato cosí, da prima dell’AI slop o prima che passasse a Musk ci son sempre state le foto delle tazze del caffé e le albe con le frasi da soccer mom.

      Non lo ho piú da anni, ma non basta fare come su YouTube e cambiare il Paese di appartenenza da Italia ad altro per non vedere piú quella roba?

      È semplicemente una conseguenza naturale se il ricavo è dato dalle pubblicità.

      Ad un certo punto l’obiettivo si sposta e non è più quello di essere una piattaforma che piaccia agli utenti, ma è di essere una piattaforma che faccia soldi, anche a discapito della qualità 

      È proprio una questione di incentivi che vanno in conflitto con la qualità del prodotto finale, e difatti capita sempre in tutte le piattaforme che si basano sulle pubblicità per monetizzare.

      Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, ormai anche Reddit.
