Hi everyone! I’ve tried to look for this on the HSL website but couldn’t find anything.

I currently have an AB seasonal ticket and will need to go to zone C for an appointment. As buying another BC ticket gives me 80 minutes, I am thinking of the possibility of making the whole round trip using only 1 BC ticket. I can finish my business and take the bus back to zone B at 17:40.

The problem is I get on the bus at Tapiola at 16:07 and the bus will travel in zone B for the next 30 minutes, so I will have to buy another BC ticket just to make a 3 minutes trip back to zone B.

My question is, can I buy the bus in advance but have the validity starts at, say 16:30, and show it to the bus driver when I get on the bus at Tapiola?

    1. You should buy ABC at the beginning of your trip. If you already have AB season ticket, zone C is an extension, which, if I remember correctly is cheaper than a normal full ticket

    2. You can do a timed purchase through the app.
Buy Single Ticket > Validity Starts from 16:35 +.

Technically you are supposed to be on BC by the time you hop on the bus, but the bus driver isnt gonna check on that, especially over just 3 stops: after riding on 30 minutes.

If feeling bad about it, Just put a timed purchase at 16:35. That way you can claim you bought the ticket BEFORE crossing and show it if asked.

      But Ticket extensions maybe cheaper.

You can set AB+C ticket to start at your desired time. You just show your AB ticket to the driver.

    4. Going strictly by the book, you must have ticket for the whole trip at the moment of stepping in the vehicle.

If you buy C extension ticket for your AB seasonal ticket, it lasts 90 minutes (because it’s an ABC ticket) and is slightly cheaper too

    5. I guess your best option is to buy an extension ticket for zone CD (3,30€) which is valid for 110 minutes and gives you plenty of time for the return trip.

    6. Alternative option: walk from Petas stop. Looks like Jorvin sairaala is 3 minutes away by bus, so it shouldn’t be too far. I check with google maps and it’s 1km away. Although, i understand that it might not be possible, since the stop is at a hospital
