      Nice map, would like to see one with runner-ups of the World Cup. Some interesting countries: Czechoslovakia, Hungary, Sweden, Netherlands, Croatia

      Interesting map. Apart from Uruguay and Italy, these countries represent the powerhouses of modern football. It doesn’t look like anyone else can even come close to winning it any more

      People are making fun of Italy for not participating in the World Cup while their countries could participate 100 times and not achieve the success they have achieved. Not a fan of their team at all but it‘s getting annoying.

      In other words, the only countries that should be eligible to host it right now. But hey, FIFA knows better.

      Honestly a shame The Netherlands never won one, finalists in 74, 78 and 2010, in 78 and 2010 losing on extra time, must hurt

      I know it wasnt an official WC, but during the 1920 olympics the first intercontinental football tournament was won by Belgium. Shame it’s never getting credited for that, granted only 14 nations participated.

      Only later was decided to not do this tournament at the olympics anymore but host a world cup as its own thing. the Olympics in ’24 and ’28 were won by Uruguay.

      In 1930 then the first official WC was hosted.

      I believe a European country will win this WC, Argentina gotta wait for a new Messi(ah) to come ‘cuz Leo is just too old now and playing in MLS his level has surely declined. I think one the host countries might make it to the semi, Mexico or Canada, USA doesn’t have a strong team for this WC.

      I am a brazilian and I can tell you, this only matters to the football players and the club owners. Brazilian people are still deluded.
