Another reason for the Netherlands’ boycott is the EBU’s hypocrisy. Their artist was disqualified for exaggerated claims of misconduct, while Israel’s much more severe violations of harassment, vote manipulation and instrumentalization of the contest for political purposes were ignored, not to mention what is happening outside the contest.

Russia is banned because they are invading a fellow member of the EBU, all well and good. Israel are now invading and openly stating that they will take full control of 10% of another EBU member, yet they are not held to the same standard.

I’m thinking (hoping) they’ll be banned next year. A lot of these countries boycotted Eurovision when it was still arguable that Israel were just ensuring the destruction of Hamas tunnels in Gaza. Now it’s damned clear that Israel is actively expansionst and genocidal; there’s no excuse for not excluding them next year.

This contest was born to foster peace and understanding between nations.
Israel starts war after war, uses this contest for soft power propaganda and its documented that they cheated in voting.
Russia was kicked for less, Belarus was kicked for less.
This is simply not acceptable.
