Hi everyone,

Unfortunately, my garage was broken into last night and two of my bicycles were stolen.

Whoever did it forced entry and cut through a heavy-duty security chain (ABUS Granite 100) using what looks like a power tool. It was not a quick or quiet job, so I’m hoping someone might have seen or heard something.

I’ve already reported it to the police (report filed), and I’m attaching photos of the bikes.

If anyone spots them, sees something suspicious, or has any info at all, I would really appreciate it if you could reach out.

Also, just a heads-up to everyone: even locked garages are not as safe as we might think, so double-check your security if you can.

Thanks a lot 🙏

Maybe your bikes might be covered under apartment insurance?  I got seperate bycicle insurance for my families two bycicles for 120 euros a year. (Medium fancy endurance bikes)  Full coverage as long as they are locked up with a sufficient lock.

    Really sorry about your bikes.

  2. When my bike was stolen in Geneva, I found it at a flea market in Annemasse, with a half sawn off lock still attached

Chain locks are still relatively easy to crack. Best to go with a sturdy U shaped lock (at least there they’ll need to cut twice)
