Found a "Hiking pharmacy" on a hike in Rhineland-Palatinate. If in need of first aid and more, you can use the items inside. I had a good laugh as I noticed the emergency cigarette.

Reminds me of the fake nesting box my neighbouring village maintains next to a wayshrine, you can open it and there’s usually a pretty decent bottle of booze inside along with some plastic/cardboard single use shot glasses. Also a small donation box underneath to keep it stocked.

    2. If only it also had drinking water. The one emergency I’ve had while hiking in Germany is running out of water with nowhere to refill

Tobacco has haemostatic properties. Sprinkle it on little cuts, especially if you’re taking anticoagulants, and the bleeding will stop or at least slow down considerably.

Why was there no Schnaps??? Someone did a lousy job or someone stole the bottle.

I once went on a hike in the Black Forest and found a “Notfall Bar” stacked with beer bottles. The suggested donation per bottle was 2€.

It was a great hike. 😁

There still are spots in Germany where you can set up such a thing for the common good without it getting vandalized by some ahole?

Amazing! I want to move there.

…would I ever use anything out of this? Maybe the bandaids? Everything else is too sketchy, tbh.
