What is with these location suggestions on TikTok, Adelaide?

I am on the office computer and trying to tag us (a business on Rundle Street) in the locations. What does TikTok think happens here?

  1. Disgusting, no civilized person would go there, please censor “Byron bay” next time

That is the most outrageous suggestion I’ve ever seen.

Backshot park and femboy maid don’t sound overly appealing either.

    “Femboy maid cafe”

Absolutely disgusting. Who would want to go to such a place? Please send me the location so I can make sure I NEVER go there!

  4. tiktok’s search suggestions don’t use the same algorithm of other social media search engines. i can’t give much of an explanation beyond that, but i literally have never used tiktok before (it’s been downloaded for awhile tho) and my searches were weird stuff like this.

Brisbane is almost as bad with location suggestions. It’s so weird. I get people wanna be smart asses with their location tags but it does affect others too.

  6. *slams fists on table* where is the femboy cafe!? I need directions now!

Also not sure why this is NSFW.

Well I hadn’t planned on driving to Adelaide this weekend but it seems I might need to pack some essentials and get on the road.

Please show some dignity for people who may have triggers and refer to it as *delaide

I was trying out some targeted advertising yesterday and it gave me the exact same options. I’m much closer to Byron Bay however. Not sure where my nearest Femboy Maid Café is.

Hope you’ve got a skirt ready, you’re gonna start getting a certain type of clientele 😂

  11. Had a chance to visit Adelaide a while back while traveling Australia. Decided to pass and went elsewhere.

Just searched “Adelaide” on Reddit. *Interesting* results. It would appear not visiting was an egregious error on my part. “City of churches” indeed.

It has now moved to the very top of my future travel itinerary. For artistic, cultural, and scientific purposes of course.
