Belgian architects AgwA, Jan De Vylder and Inge Vinck won the EUmies Award for their renovation of the Palais des Expositions in Charleroi. The Grand Palais, an exhibition and conference centre, retained its function but was made more accessible by retaining the central hall and removing the facades. The renovation, while preserving Charleroi’s industrial history, provides space for exhibitions, meeting rooms, an auditorium and parking garages.

Cool. Hopelijk helpt dit om aandacht te vestigen op de erbarmelijke staat van de stad en dat er iets aan gedaan wordt.
