There was recently a promotion for a monitor via the MediaMarkt app – €201 instead of €249. At the store, I showed the employee the promotional price directly in the app. He then typed around on the PC and said that it didn’t work, that the system only had €207. I didn’t think anything of it and took the monitor with me anyway.
At home I took a closer look at the bill and found that the monitor only cost €177 – but a warranty extension of €29.99 had been added. At first I thought I might have gotten the wrong model and checked the app. It was the correct model and there was no mention of an extended warranty included in the price.
I then went back to the store and explained to the receptionist that the employee had charged me for the extended warranty without my knowledge. The refund was carried out without discussion – the bottom line is that I got the monitor for almost €80 less than originally planned.
My guess is that the employee
manually changed the price to the purchase price and added the extended warranty to secure a bonus. In effect, he was trying to screw the company – and I unintentionally benefited.
TL;DR: A MediaMarkt employee probably manually reduced the monitor price to the purchase price and secretly added an extended warranty, probably to sneak a bonus. After a warranty refund, I ended up paying for the monitor for almost €80 less than I expected.

Gibt es für diese Monitore gerade zufällig ein Angebot mit Gratis Garantieverlängerung?
Hatte das Gleiche mit einem Fernseher, die Garantie war gratis aber sie haben den Preis des TVs nochmal soweit herabgesetzt, dass quasi die Garantie normal mitgerechnet wurde. War aber ein Onlinekauf wohlgemerkt.
Jap, er erhält damit ein paar Euro Provision für den Versicherungsverkauf (Garantieversicherung). Womöglich gibts sogar ein internes Ranking, wo er nochmal etwas Boni oder zumindest Anerkennung erhalten kann.
Die Garantie Verlängerung is das einzige worauf die Bosse weit weg von den Märkten achten. Ich weiß von einem Storeleiter der wegen zu niedrigen Garantie und sonstigen Bonus verkäufen abgestraft worden ist obwohl er die ganze Region zusammen gehalten hat und sein Store einfach mega unterbesetzt war.
30€ raushauen für sowas is ne frechheit. Meine Logitech Mous hat 2 Jahre Garantie ohne zusätliche Gebühren
Glaub es sind 80 Cent Provision für den Mitarbeiter bei einer 3-Jahres-Garantie. Fun-Fact, wenn wirklich was is mit deinem Monitor würdest von der 3jährigen eine 100% Auszahlung bekommen, aber bei Asus selbst scheißt ma sehr oft rein ^^

Für die Garantie Verlängerung gibt’s Provision and den Mitarbeiter der sie dem Kunden angedreht hat. Quelle – Hawara hat jahrelang beim Media Markt gehackelt und davon erzählt.
Den Rest kann man sich zamm reimen.
Der Mitarbeiter hat dir den gewünschten Preis gegeben. Zusätzlich hast du auch noch eine Garantieverlängerung “geschenkt” bekommen und er erhält eine Provision. Eigentlich eine klassische Win-Win-Situation, aber die Gier heutzutage ist unerträglich. Leben und leben lassen…
Das habe ich schon öfters beim Mediamarkt gesehen. Wenn du eine Versicherung abschließt, dann bekommst du das Produkt billiger. Ich vermute der Mitarbeiter wusste das nicht, weil meiner Erfahrung nach bekommt man die Sachen auch um den Preis ohne die Versicherung, wenn man fragt.
