This is one situation where I say don’t deport. Instead keep in prison for the rest of his life. I’m happy for my taxes to go towards keeping this scum behind bars than living freely ever again.

Here we go again. After many accidents caused by incompetent drivers, government still not cracking down on these corrupt driving schools, permit authorities, and companies. This will only keep happening

The fact that he fled and deleted his socials right after shows absolutely no remorse. He should not be our responsibility but I also don’t trust India to hold him accountable properly either

  4. I noticed most truckers now have became these “newcomers”. It is getting very dangerous out there as they bring their driving habits and lack of value of life with them.

  5. Can we get more vigilant with going after people who use their cellphone while driving? I see people on their phones all of the time. No matter whether it’s on city streets or on the highway.

Update: Wow. Fell asleep and came back to a lot of up votes and replies to this.
It looks like many people also have a concern about cellphone use and driving. This is one topic that I wish our Provincial and Federal governments would get behind and make a priority. One is too many deaths, yet we hear about this all the time.

Also, looks like this got locked down for some reason.

  6. Can we put a pause on immigration from a certain area for a while. At least long enough for us to put verifiable systems in place which will allow the enforcement of our rules – including proper driver training?

I hate it on the 401 these days. When I come up to a tractor towing doubles and see them swaying, I know exactly who is driving.

Report suggests that he tried to flee to India in 2022, but then got arrested in US in 2025.

It is most likely he had arrest warrants in India too and fled to US, living illegally there.

  8. Haha, 25 years. Not a chance w Canadian laws.
Marco Muzzo killed people from 3 generations a was out in 4-5 tops.
The kid that killed Mom and 3 kids in Richmond Hill. A few years in jail tops.
    Have to change the laws

Anyone here ever drive on the 401 going east between 7pm-9pm?

It’s absolute madness out there. Feels like a free for all in the worst possible way.

So what trucking company was he working for during all these violations and what penalties are they going to be facing as a result?

  11. More Doctors and Engineers…..love the 3rd world country additions to Canada. Rest in peace

  12. Truck drivers in Canada use to be the “ go to “ people for driving. Now they are the “stay away from “ ones.

People fleeing back to their home country after committing a crime in Canada is a real problem.

Terrible, terrible situation. Lock him up.

That said, why would you admit to playing video games, though? Why not say literally anything else, anything less incriminating?

Unfortunately I see truck drivers distracted more and more frequently on the highway. Previously I was driving a ton (id say 40-50k annually) and it was primarily highway. I’ve reduced my driving to what will amount to maybe 15k, primarily in town with a little highway driving. The biggest thing I’ve noticed is my calmness when driving now as I’m not constantly watching trucks enter my lane, drift over the solid line to the shoulder, etc.

My vehicle is relatively tall so I can get a look at the driver sometimes to see what’s going on and quite often, they’re looking to their right and down towards the console. I’d assume watching their phone, a movie, or who knows what.

You’re driving a massive piece of metal with a ton of energy behind it. You’re responsible for the lives of many people.

We need to get tough on this. Find a good way to identify the people abusing their position (it’s hard to see up there) and remove their licence permanently. Hit them where it hurts and where it deters as many of these people as possible. Losing families to extreme negligence is horrible.

My question would be, how do we not deem a foreign national a flight risk in any potential crime with significant jail time? They met with him, and allowed him to flee…

  17. Everyone who got their AZ license in Ontario in the last 7 years need to get re-tested properly right now. New drivers are litterally killing people on the regular here in Northern Ontario.

  18. I’ve seen truck drivers fully using laptops/tablets while doing 120kmh. Also seen police doing the same thing.

First step is to hold the drivers avcountable by very publically convicting them and sentencing them to the fullest possible punishment the law can allow.

The second step is to go after the companies that hire these incompetent and dangerous liablilities. Fine the companies, and start holding their hiring managers personally liable at least civilly, but also criminally.

The third step is to hold the licensing bodies accountable for allowing someone so negligent to be licensed, and for allowing shady fly-by-night “training” companies to exploit wannabe drivers and endager the public.

These three steps will force the industry to make and sustain changes to ensure better levels of safety.

And Canada, like many other countried that have sensible immigration systems, should deport every immigrant who commits/is convicted of any crime… But we should add to that seizing any cash or property as part of that process as restitution for their victim(s).

I advocate for the death penalty for assholes like this. Why should he live in prison off tax payers backs? He might as well have been drunk when he drove that day.

This should be strait up manslaughter, plain and simple. And companies should be sued for negligence. This is happening too often.
