    [CURIOSITÀ] Does anyone know the story of the “Coppa La Pavoni” (1959)?

    Hi everyone!

    ​I wanted to share this find with you: a small silver cup about 15 cm high, with the engraving "La Pavoni Cup 1959".

    For those who don’t know, La Pavoni is a historic brand of espresso coffee machines. The interesting thing is that the cup was made by Romeo Miracoli, one of the oldest and most prestigious silversmiths in Milan (you can clearly see the brand "snake").

    ​I would like to know if there are any coffee history experts or vintage collectors among you:

    Do you know if La Pavoni organized barista competitions or company prizes in 1959?

    Have you ever seen similar trophies linked to coffee machine brands of the time?

      Cercando online ho trovato riferimenti alla coppa la pavoni in ambito di hockey, riferito agli anni 50-60 quindi corrisponde. Potrebbe essere che La Pavoni fosse lo sponsor ufficiale della lega di hockey o del torneo in questione in quegli anni e quindi che la coppa non abbia a che fare con competizioni barista o cose del genere (anche perchè quello è un monto che si è sviluppato più negli ultimi 20 anni con la cossiddetta third wave, prima non era visto nello stesso modo).
