  3. more train services is great but more frequent buses would do a lot. On Sundays some buses either are every hour or don’t run at all.

    Worth noting that quite a few of these train frequency changes were also included in the [2025/26 budget announcement](https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/pt-blitz-more-train-services-metro-tunnel-and-airport-rail) from May last year too.

    **Sandringham line:** services running every 10 minutes between peak periods, increasing the number of trains from four to six trains per hour between peak periods
    **Craigieburn line:** increase in services during shoulder peak and off-peak periods, with trains running at least every 20 minutes on the line, including late at night and on weekends
    **Upfield line:** increase in off-peak services with trains running at least every 20 minutes on the line, including late at night and on weekends
    **Gippsland line**: additional weekday interpeak services on the Traralgon Line following the completion of the Gippsland Line Upgrade this year, with trains to run every 40 minutes
    **Bendigo line**: longer trains running on more weekend services
    **Seymour line:** an additional service in the morning and afternoon peak

    Potentially seems like it didn’t end up getting funded during the 2025/26 FY, despite the budget announcements saying otherwise, so they’re now having to do it in the 2026/27 FY instead…

  6. Since PT became free, we’ve been going to the city every weekend instead of driving. I’m happy spending money at shops & food instead of all-day parking & fuel.

    Not a single mention of the Pakenham line which is the most busiest lmao.
    It’s that bad that I moved to the city to because of the Pakenham line in general.

  9. Finally some love for the Eastern suburbs! Shame I live so far away from the railway network and busses are infrequent at best, and uber/didi prices to get to the station are getting far more insane recently.

    Wait so April is free, and from June 1 prices will be half off. What about May? Full price or free as well? It would be super odd to go from free for one month, to full price for one month, then back to half price onwards
