Pre-WWII is an odd way of just saying 1937
i was glad to see these in person before they disappear :'(
“declining rapidly” from a range of factors — **including REPEATED fires reaching to the canopy top**
Arson. Well done idiots. Does the park have no CCTV?!! Why not?
They were magnificent trees. I believe disease and/or chemicals are the main culprit. The decline and death was remarkably uniform for both trees. I’m glad the council is going to preserve the wood and as seeking community input in what to do with the timber.
I smoked weed under these trees for the first time. RIP.
