Hello everyone,

I am visiting the Baltic states in July and thought it would be a great opportunity to visit Minsk for a couple of days, as we British passport holders have visa free travel to Belarus until 31st December 2026. I have seen many very recent accounts online of fellow passport holders crossing the land border with no issue however when I visit the Belarus tourism website it says that for 30 days visa free I MUST ARRIVE at one of the international airports. This is confusing and making me think I may get rejected at the Lithuania-Belarus border. Is there anyone that can clear this up? Thanks :))

These are two separate arrangements. The 30-day visa free access via certain airports for British passport holders has been the norm since 2017 whilst visa free access via land borders is a temporary arrangement which has been extended a couple of times, most recently until the end of 2026.

Use only official sources. Visit MFA or the Border Authority (GPK) website for updated information.

You can enter Belarus via Lithuania. I’m currently here and got here via bus from Vilnius . It’s visa free until end of 2026.
