It’s basically what happens when busses get stuck in traffic.

With a heavily used route, during peak hour when some buses may have been delayed? No, not really. With the bus I get to and from work, I often see two at once and three isn’t too unusual either.

We’ve all heard of train-spotters… but bus-spotters?!

So this is because of the Meriton development at Eastgardens where for some stupid reason they’ve built high density without mass transit. 392s come every few minutes through that corridor at peakhour to try to keep up with the demand.

First bus is full and doesn’t pick up passengers. Second bus picks up passengers as it originally was the first bus but was overtaken. The third bus is there due to the first 2 being delayed.
Happens when buses run frequently.

Oh look, a bus route where buses actually arrive and don’t just DISAPPEAR when it was already on Google Maps less than a km away from you. So happy for you people. ðŸ˜ðŸ˜¿

Never seen a normal bus route with buses bunching but the south west link ones frequently bunch on peak times, seen 3 back to back once

Yes, 370 especially but not like the old daysÂ

I often notice this in Riverview with the 254. One will drive past, then another shortly after and then another. Always has me wondering how that’s possible considering the bus here is something like once or twice an hour

I used to see bus bunching on the Macquarie Park route. Some days you’d wait 45 mins then three would go past without stopping. Ended up driving instead.

You’ve never heard the saying about buses?

Only when 5 or more are in a row. 3 isn’t too uncommon. 4 is fairly odd. 5 is rare and something went wrong.

Ugh happens to the 308 for me.
I’ll wait an hour then 3 show up at the same time.

Seen it quite a few times for 320 going from Chatswood to CBD. Atleast 2 blue and 1 red bus back to back

And just like that, no bus on that route for 1h

It does indeed happen, especially if there’s traffic.
It’s particularly common on high-frequency services, most notably in the Eastern Suburbs (such as the 333, 343 and 390X) since I noticed Transdev John Holland fleet there in the OP.

When I lived in Waterloo by Zetland I’d see three buses on the same route all the time. The late one, the on time one, and the running early one.

Woah I think I saw these exact busses at Lane Cove this morning, seemed strange to me too for the 392

Lived on pacific highway in crowsnest. Would wait for an hour. Then atleast 6 if not more.of the same bus route would all rock up in unison.

Very rare. Will swap you for my Pidgey Pokemon card.

Happens often with the 333 which goes from Circular Quay to Bondi Beach. I’m pretty sure they don’t even have a timetable for the route, the drivers just start from each end whenever the hell they feel like it.

Haha it’s so wild how that happens

Drives me insane, 1 full, 2 empty and then there’ll be none for 30 mins. Cant they use GPS / form of group collaboration and if behind the fomt one, slow down, spread themselves out a little bit across the whole route?

No, it’s why buses suck. None come for 20 minutes, then 3 come at once
