Greece in Georgian is “saberdzneti” and “brdzeni” means wise. So it’s called a land of wise people. Take the compliment and enjoy haha
Oh damn now I realize how much I miss my Greek friends 🥹 we see each other rarely as we live in different countries

Every time I fly to Greece, I think to myself – this is what Georgia could’ve been, if they left the Russian influence on time.
Same mentality, same climate.
One day I wish to own an apartment with a view of the sea in Krete 😅

Greeks gave us philosophy, culture, and… lifelong trust issues after the Fall of Constantinople.

possibly the best opinion out of countries from region. maybe because you were closer before and further now played a role in it. we are extremely chauvinistic towards neighbors, including turks and ruskis, you are no neighbor of ours since 1204, or 1461. so you got the nostalgia pass 😉

My personaly opinion is that i am so grateful, no my relative or any related person to me worked in greece but I know that acceptance of Georgian imigrants from 1990s till today is one the reason many georgian families lifted from proverty and achieved some small goals in their life which otherwise looked impossible.
On the other hand, I live in Malta and i travel to Georgia from Thessaloniki almost always, I like the vibes, country in general and my first impression is this is what Georga shall be, but we have soviet past, different mentality and aggresive neigbhour.

Georgians in general respect and love ancient civilisations with rich culture and deep history (especially christian ones) ((especially orthodox christian ones)). Attitude towards Greece is very favourable in Georgia, Ancient greek texts are widely translated and read, reprinted and sold through decades (quality of Georgian translations and studies of Ancient greek texts is actually one of the best in the world probably).
But there is some negative attitude towards greece in more conservative parts of population for being LGBTQ+ friendly and stuff like that.

Aside from obvious stuff (Argonauts and the Golden fleece, Philosophers, Mutual Foes).
1. Greece in Georgian is called “Saberdzneti’ which later on became synonymous with Wiseness, or “Sibrdzne”, Wise person is called “Brdzeni”.
2. Church in Georgian is called Eklesia
3. Greek Names in Georgian end with Suffix “E”, Elene, Aleqsandre, Demetre
4. There used to be a lot of Pontic Greeks in Georgia, they all emigrated after the fall of USSR
