Hi. I took this picture in 2016 in Bruges. I’ve always just assumed "shit of mouse" is chocolate chip or something, but I’d like to know for sure.
Like in the UK some people call Garibaldi biscuits "dead fly biscuits". Is a similar thing going on here? And is it widespread or is it a private joke at this cafe only? Thank you for your time.

[Muizenstrontjes](https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/muizenstrontjes)
Shit of mouse = muizenstrontjes or hagelslag, a kind of chocolate we put on toast
Caca de souris, chocolate sprinkles. Aussies loves them too !
Ahhh, thank you guys. Anytime I tried to Google it I would just get a ton of results about how to keep mice from shitting in you cafe.
It’s called hagelslag in standard Dutch. But in Flemish dialect muizenstrontjes. Literally translated to English: Shit of mice. The joke comes from a TV series called “Eigen Kweek”

The proper translation is chocolate sprinkles. Not everything needs to be literally translated. 😀
Bruges is just another Belgian hooker catering everyone who wants to pay for it’s services…
Oh in French (at least in my family) we say “crottes en chocolat” too 🙂
