Een rechtse regering die een privébedrijf wil nationaliseren? Da’s toch de wereld op zijn kop. Moesten de kerncentrales rendabel en veilig zijn, had het er wel anders uitgezien.

Onafhankelijke audit voor een miljardenuitgave lijkt mij de logica zelve. Geen idee waarom je dit niet zou doem.

Sinds wanneer is rechts VOOR nationalisering??? Belfius, de lijn, NMBS…. Die moeten geprivatiseerd worden. Maar 40 jaar oude kerncentrales? Ja die zijn van ons!

Years later, Oops, we need the energy! stop the dismantling!
Engie: Euh no, YOU told us to dismantle them (which is a long and costly process), so “we” wont invest in them again just to turn back “bad” Belgian goverment decisions. (and as a private company, we need to handle the money of our investors in a responsible way)

Never hear a solution from these dorks other than plodding on with the “energy transition” as if everything is just fine with the global energy supply. We’re in this mess because these bozos pushed for the closure of NPPs all over this continent. Frankly no one should vote for these people beyond the municipal. 

Als het van groen afhangt zijn we over een paar jaar volledig afhankelijk van olie en gas voor de elektriciteit in dit land. Je kan een land niet volledig op wind en zon laten draaien, de productie is dan veel te afhankelijk van het weer en het valt moeilijk te schalen. We hebben kernenergie nodig om de puur groene stroom aan te vullen.

De politieke boutades die nu al de ronde doen vanuit de meerderheidspartijen beloven niet veel goeds

-refurbished at egregious costs

-or demolished at egregious costs (you need safe disposal of basically all the concrete of the reactor and it takes decades to fully deconstruct)

the government steps in to buy them?
We sold them in mint condition to the private sector and now that there have to be massive investments we buy them back? Sorry, private sector pay for it yourself if you want to keep them, there is already a deal in place for the costs of demolishing.

Also where is the money supposed to come from? We still need to find 10 billion dollars apparently even after all the new measures. And we can’t borrow anymore or was that whole credit rating and borrowing is bad for your kids spiel all a joke?

don’t get me wrong we need a lot elektricity and we need to make it ourselves; but is this really the best move? For the same money we can lay solar panels on probably any roof that hasn’t have them installed yet and produce more energy. You can probably also fund actual research in proper grid storage to get us through slumps and nights on top of it and still be cheaper off.

Zelfs zonder audit wéét je dat gans de case van De Wever aan elkaar hangt als los zand. Engie is een op winst gericht bedrijf dat gespecialiseerd is in electriciteitsmarkt. Inschatten welke activiteiten wel of niet rendabel zijn is gans de core van dat bedrijf en zijn vinden dat die kerncentrales openhouden niet rendabel is. Ja, ze kunnen zich vergissen, maar er nog heel wat andere bedrijven actief op de markt. Er is niets dat hen tegenhoudt een bod te doen op de kerncentrales mocht ze inschatten dat ze wel rendabel open te houden zijn. Engie zou er ook bij winnen, want dan krijgt het nog geld voor die kerncentrales. Ze hebben die kerncentrales gekocht en ze kunnen het weer verkopen. Niemand dat zo’n bod gedaan heeft. En dan komt De Wever, licentiaat in de geschiedenis, nog nooit actief geweest op de electriciteitsmarkt of eender welk privé-bedrijf, daar zeggen: ‘Engie en gans de electriciteitssector weten niet waarover ze het hebben, dat is wel rendabel’. Komaan he.

Dan kunnen we eigenlijk beter alles nationaliseren, als politici het beter weten dan de managers die bedrijven dag in dag uit beheren.
