    Japanese rice is more common in US than ever. Every Japanese grocery and most Chinese and Korean grocery stores have rice from Hokkaido and sometimes Niigata. The packaging is partially in English, so this was packaged to be sold in the US. The exchange rate makes it too financially enticing not to sell overseas. 5kg bag costs around $25. 10kg around $45 in the SF Bay Area.
