Ministry aims to bolster Japanese language skills in Global South

Why? So the government can build them up to 上手 levels, then when they get here, tell them to leave 日本 after three to five years? This administration is so confusing.

Would seem to contradict making language school harder to get into. I understand thy think it makes more sense to speak Japanese before coming but they actually are making it harder to do that. If you can’t take JLPT in Japan as a tourist then you will only have one or two chances to take it. If there are less chances to learn you may take the path that requires bo language learning or choose to not go to japan at all. Japan’s appeal outside of Western and eastern weebs was mostly economic, that is deminishing.

Spend taxpayers money to send specialists to teach Japanese, so they can bring more foreign labours to Japan, a nation with growing anti foreign sentiment? Weeeeeeelllll…..
