This is a solid step forward, but it’s hard to ignore the fear that Tusla could still be the weak link if nothing changes. The plan only works if the agency that’s already overloaded is actually given the staff and resources to keep up. People have seen too many cases fall through the cracks to just take it on faith. If the Government is serious, they need to shore up Tusla or the whole thing risks collapsing at the same point it always does.

Surely they should put a system in place that automatically flags the names and this wouldn’t have to rely on Tusla with the deadline on top…
That would make too much sense and might actually have to involve funding and resources from the govt though I guess…
